really liked it
Deathless Divide
by Justina Ireland
The visuals in this series are not only stunning but vividly memorable! While I loved the first book in the series more than the second, it's only by a tiny margin as bridge books (which I sincerely hope this is) are for those of us who ...

Opening to queries in 2026:

Here's what I'll be looking for when I reopen in 2026:
I currently represent writers and illustrators from underrepresented communities writing in middle grade, young adult, and adult (fiction and nonfiction) categories. I am only accepting work from creators who identify with, or are members of, an underrepresented group or global majority. In 2026, I will open to queries for a limited time (the first two weeks of every month) and will actively build my list in the following categories only:

In Adult Fiction, I am looking for:
  • Romance: sexy, swoon-worthy, escapist storylines with complex characters (think Kennedy Ryan’s CAN’T GET ENOUGH, FLIRTING LESSONS by Jasmine Guillory, WHEN JAVI DUMPED MARI by Mia Sosa, A TROPICAL REBEL GETS THE DUKE by Adriana Herrera, and Emily Henry’s GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL LIFE)
  • Science Fiction: propulsive and thought-provoking plotlines that are otherworldly and have crossover appeal (think RAGE OF DRAGONS by Evan Winter, PROJECT HAIL MARY by Andy Weir, Pierce Brown’s RED RISING series, and THE BROKEN EARTH series by N.K. Jemisin)
  • Fantasy: both cozy and immersive, character-driven stories that take you on a fantastical journey (think A WITCH’S GUIDE TO MAGICAL INNKEEPING by Sangu Mandanna, A PSALM FOR THE WILD-BUILT by Becky Chambers, DEATH OF THE AUTHOR by Nnedi Okorafor, and Analeigh Sbrana’s LORE OF THE WILDS duology)
  • Gothic Tales and Horror: atmospheric, gripping haunted tales or visceral stories that keep you in a chokehold through the entire read (think THE BETWITCHING by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, THE POSSESSION OF ALBA DIAZ by Isabel Cañas, and HOUSE OF BONE AND RAIN by Gabino Iglesias)
  • Cozy mysteries: quirky, amateur sleuths in small towns or tight-knit communities solving crimes (think Rachel Eckstrom Courage’s MURDER BY CHEESECAKE, Jesse Q. Sutanto’s VERA WONG’S GUIDE TO SNOOPING, and THE EX-GIRLFRIEND MURDER CLUB by Gloria Chao)
  • Upmarket Commercial Fiction: immersive family sagas and genre-bending fiction (think THE GRAND PALOMA RESORT by Cleyvis Natera, ANITA DE MONTE LAUGHS LAST by Xochitl Gonzalez, THIS IS THE ONLY KINGDOM by Jaquira Diaz)

In Adult Narrative Nonfiction, I am looking for:
  • Food/Drink books that speak to culture and diversity of cuisine (think DIASPORICAN by Illyanna Maisonet, and SALT, FAT, ACID, HEAT by Samin Nosrat)
  • Narrative Nonfiction books that teach us more about our world through popular culture or family dynamics (think BLACK IN BLUES: HOW A COLOR TELLS THE STORY OF MY PEOPLE by Imani Perry, TÍAS AND PRIMAS by Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodríguez)

In YA and MG Fiction, I am looking for:
  • All genres – though I’m particularly interested in more science fiction and romance in these categories.

You can also find a more detailed list on the official Manuscript Wishlist website here.

Please note that I do NOT accept queries via email. These are deleted without response.
